Lauren is a recent graduate of Mount Holyoke College and is taking a gap year before beginning graduate studies in her interests of Public History and Cultural Heritage Management.

Blood & Oil is the merging of her interest in public history and her childhood in the Gulf Coast. Lauren’s ultimate goal is to stimulate conversations (outside of academia) about public history, its value, its issues, and its future.

Lauren is grateful to all who have contributed to this project, friends, family, and Mount Holyoke’s world-class faculty. Ultimately, Lauren is a devout believer that knowledge is power.
